OKAY! So what I've been able to tell from the lyrics and the music video, I'm thinking it's meaning is supposed to be about love, and showing who your really are (on the inside). Hence the name, "Bones". Does that make any sense? I don't think it does... Ugh. It's hard for me to explain it!
In the video, the couple are at a beach, who then strip and end up taking off their, um, skin... What I got out of it was they were showing each other their true nature... Ugh. I can't think of the right words, dang it! *Jenny's brain dies*

But after watching it, I was able to grasp the message/meaning behind the song a little bit better, though, not completely. I'm glad that they decided to make this a single because it is a good song in my opinion, but I think "Sam's Town" would have been a better choice.
