Well, I haven't really listened to Bruce Springsteen's music, so I can't offer my personal opinion of comparison, but he has been listed as one of their influences. :]

Just wondering, does anyone else think this record sounds like Bruce Springsteen? My dad thinks "Read My Mind" does. I have the album and I don't hear much of a similarity to Bruce but I dunno.

I only know about 3 songs from this album, so I don't know if I'll buy it. I've got Hot Fuss, though, and that's a great album. That's why I'm thinking I should probably get this one as well. (:
I'll consider ittt.

I've got to say I agree with you Pricey. Sam's Town has some very good songs on it but I feel that it misses the pure energy of Hot Fuss. They are both good albums, I just prefer Hot Fuss.

The Killers are my favorite. My friend Bekka just burnt me that CD, literally, like a couple of hours ago.

So yeah. They're pretty sweet.

I do agree with you... I think Sam's Town is much better than Hot Fuss, but I also think that singing about homosexuality, and even the murder of a girl shows diversity in their music. That's one of the reasons why I like The Killers so much... they don't just sing about heart break, painful break-ups, or love relationships... the usual stuff.

But when this album is compared to their first, I like the songs better along with the feel from the music.

Much love,
Jenny Valentine

I liked Sam's Town much better than Hot Fuss. Hot Fuss had too much dazzle, and they honestly tried too hard on that album. Sam's Town is better in my opinion. No more semi homosexual songs, or murdered teenage girls.

I love what I heard from Jenny's album. Bones is still ultimately my favorite song :D

I was so excited about this album because of how amazing Hot Fuss was, that I bought this album hot when it came out. Although not an instant addiction as Hot Fuss (I mean lets face it, I wasn't the only one who loved every song instantly the first time I heard them), this album is deffinately amzing on a different level.

I played through the album the moment I got into my car, and I admit, I was a little dissapointed at first. There were only 2 songs that I liked right away, and thought the rest of the songs were messy, until I got over my anticipation and listened to it again with more patience. You play through it the first time looking for an instant hit, but find that besides the first song they released for air, there is a lack thereof. It takes about 4 or 5 plays through the album to truly fall in love with it.

There is not a bad song on this album, just like Hot Fuss, which now you find is the only common ground. With a different sound, they rule the world once again with their ability to rock and amaze. With every song featuring different moods, different instruments and lyrics that entertain and grab your attention, everything comes together beautifully and masterfully. Satisfaction is deffinately delivered with a little patience. This album wasn't meant to be an "intant" getter, it was meant to be heard, and understood with realization of what music can be. Then, the person who can truly appreciate exceptionally, stunning music, has found their "getter".

And now we see how Brendan Flowers' statement "One of the best albums in 20 years" makes sense.

Best Buy $18.99, with bonus tracks. Just a dollar more than without, what have you got to lose? Chicken McNuggets? Jr Bacon cheeseburger? I'll pass, thank you.

AHA! My mom bought me Sam's Town at last... Though, sadly it isn't the one with the bonus tracks (which I was saving up money to buy myself). However, this album is still fantastic no matter what! I love all the songs on here- They have the same Killers sound as before but it seems more mature sounding. All the songs have good lyrics/meanings *Jenny loves* and I adore the music and his voice. Out of all the songs on here, My favorite has to be "For Reasons Unknown".

Much Love,
Jenny Valentine

It doesn't compare to Hot Fuss, I don't think they can top such an extraordinary album.

I'm not saying this album isn't any good, don't get me wrong.
This //is// in fact an amazing album.

Bones and Bling, My god, how I love them.

Their writing is still as beautiful as ever, they are so talented.

I want this album desperately, but I want that one with the bonus tracks. So sadly, I don't own this album (YET) but I've heard demos/previews of some of the songs on here and they all seems expectantly great!

If anyone is wondering where Sam's Town (with the Bonus tracks) are, I guess Best Buy sells them for roughly around $35- They have to order them from Japan, etc.

Much love,
Jenny Valentine
