Arwen, her music is different because of the origins of the tunes.
Her first song was, according to her, one she heard in a dream. It led to her first book.
Ever since, her writing and music have fed on each other and fueled each other.
Aqua, I
recommend starting with the Heralds Harpers and Havoc album. This is the one with her first songs and on which her first book was based.
If you are going to read the books, don't read them in the order in which they were written, though. It gets a
little confusing.
She has a timeline of her world in the front of her books -- follow that.

I have to get used to it, though, so I'll listen to it again and again.. :)
