I was in such a limbo,I was fumbling around in the uncertainty of abrupt change. That's when the song Burn Your Life Down came to me.And all the answers came with it. It was a swift kick in the head that catapulted me into greatness. If you really listen (S)ara will always tell you the truth. |

I wonder if anyone notices how badass her lyrics are.When it comes to tegan and sara I feel like tegan flashes you,Yea you get a good look but you never really get in. Sara on the other hand,oh god,She lets you all the way in. Though she made you walk up a hill and into far into the fields,She is standing in the shoulder hair prarie grass in the moonlight, heart, mind and body exposed. Cryptic maybe,but only if you don't really listen to HER. Just as accesible as tegan.The only difference is that Sara can take you places that tegan can't once you've pressed in. Its almost as if she writes with the idea that if you can understand what it is she is saying she'll show you all her cards. I feel like sara's music is wasted on a pretty sizeable amount of her general auidence. They grab on to fragments of her contents.They only can relate to surface,they only hear the emotion;get so caught up in the pain identity,but never her sign posts,never her clues, her subtle hints at how to become, how to be coming,how to be.Her lyrics are rooted in the conscieness. The con is a beautiful album,Sara swam through her pain(s) like a champ and gave us all a kind retelling. Sainthood,has proven powerful too,still,I wish sara had written alone. Side Note: i am NOT anti tegan. i'm just PRO (S)ara. |
