Wolf wrote on Jun 30, 2009 on 19:40 | Even though I have all of their albums on my computer and know quite a few songs of them, my expectations when seeing Disturbed live were set low. I'm not that much of a nu metal fan with some exceptions including KoRn.
With that being said, that is probably the only negative commentary I have about them. David Draiman proved to be one of the best nu metal singers alive and kicking. They played a couple of new songs, but also some from their breakthrough album 'The Sickness' and Genesis cover 'Land of Confusion'. Draiman's voice is much like that of Phil Collins, though with an edge, and the instrumental background was tight. Flawless, actually. Accompanied with great weather and tasteful beer, this was one of the best performances I have witnessed.
The only thing that was lacking in this performance was an opportunity for circle pits and walls of death. Most metalfans love 'em, but I find them unnecessary. Apparently Disturbeds lead singer disagreed and attempted to form walls of deaths and circlepits, but their music seemed just a bit too soft for the real deal. It seemed the crowd didn't mind.
A definite 'yes', to the question whether I would want to see them again. 8/10.
