Mama

While still in the group, "Laskovyj Maj", talented poet and composer Sergej Kuznecov, and keyboardist Aleksandr "Sasha" Priko (another boy from the Akbulak Orphanage), formed the group "Mama", and recorded the album "Vzroslyye" in March 1989.

After a huge scandal, Sasha and Sergej left Laskovyj Maj, shortly after. They were soon followed by Laskovyj Maj drummer Igor Igoshin, and Slava Ponomaryov. Also joining the band was keyboardist Sergej Sedov, who like Sasha, Igor, and Laskovyj Maj singer Yura Shatunov, grew up in the Akbulak Orphanage.

Soon Aleksandr Larionov joined the band, having worked with the band "Magnit".

Later on, a boy named Aleksandr "Sasha" Semernin, a pupil of Moscow Boarding School 19, joined as a vocalist. He was followed by former Laskovyj Maj drummer Sergej Serkov, and a new vocalist, Rafael Isangulov.

May 7, 1989, the band "Mama" appears for the first time, performing in Leningrad. The concert is broadcast live on TV.

During its existance, the band releases three albums: "Vzroslyye" (1989), "Metel' v chuzhom gorode" (1990) and "Yeshchyo odna sensaciya!" (1991). However, "Laskovyj Maj", with vocalist Yura Shatunov, record and release songs of "Mama", only helping their own promotion.

The group tours a bit, but has financial difficulties, and splits up August 30, 1992 as a result.
