Artist: Utada Hikaru
Lyrics: Traveling

Review:
I don't understand why this is listed under both N/A from 1985 and under her Deep River album from 2002? This should just be under Deep River O.o

Not one of her best songs, but it's decent enough. I think the very beginning starts off slightly boring and kicks up after that. However, I can somehwat compare this to current work (This is the One) lyrically. This isn't a very good song, yet it's not that bad since it's not a TOO common concept (with how she's worded it).

Lyrics: Taking My Money Back

Review:
I wish this song didn't exist. :[

Or that Utada didn't sing it, at least. Or have written and composed it.

The beginning is too reminiscent of "Bills, Bills, Bills" by DC, and the lyrics overall are a MAJOR disappointment, because they are just too average. Personally, I think this song is below mediocre, and I know for a fact that she can do better than this. Yes, her voice is lovely, but the music is dull and the lyrics are bland.

Really, is this what it takes to break into the US mainstream music? ...Lowering her average standards? It's upsetting to any long-time Utada fan, and I know I'm not the only one.

1/5 rating.

Lyrics: Come Back To Me

Review:
Ah, can I just comment on the music video? I love how it came out (and her hair is just awesome!)--1920s fashion is one of the best from the decades, I think. Plus, it gave the song some maturity to it, despite that I saw some silly, childish lyics previously.

(e.i., "I admit, I cheated (admit I cheated)/I don’t know why I did it (why I did it)/But I do regret it (do regret it)")

I still think the lyrics aren't that great, but the video helped alter my view and opinion of the song, though. *biased* :F

:]

Artist: Lykki Li
Lyrics: I'm Good, I'm Gone

Review:
It's unique and different, which is what drew me to the song. To be honest, though, I don't think she performed this quite well live (from what I saw). As someone I talk to said: "She can't sing!"

I downloaded the song a day after I discovered her music, and I think the recorded version is MUCH better. I would have originally rated this at a 4/5, but now it's gone down to a 3/5 from mere overplay on my part. :P

Artist: Franz Ferdinand
Lyrics: Twilight Omens

Review:
The only negative comment I can give this song is that they have TWILIGHT in the song D:

Why?! It's too eerily creepy to the Meyer's cheap series ;__; No offense to anyone, but, really now, Franz Ferdinand! Tsk, tsk.

Otherwise: good song! I'm addicted to it... I especially love the beginning!

Artist: Mushi
Lyrics: Downhill

Review:
I happen to think this song is fantastic.

:)

"And this is just/Another song/That won't get you through it/No, not at all" aren't typical lyrics one hears all the time. I love it.

Review:
Is this on the Prospekt's March edition? Because it's not on the original release of this album as far as I'm aware... :S

Artist: Prime Circle
Lyrics: Let Me Go

Review:
I don't think the low rating has anything to do with being South African. Songs from Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra--and some from Utada have low ratings as well. I think it's just because they aren't well known artists as opposed to Britney Spears :S That, and I suppose some people base their ratings on lyrics =/

Someone told me to listen to Prime Circle a whlie ago, but I never got the chance. I think I'll give this song a listen! :)
