I'll second that first bit. I'm not a Jonas Brothers' fan, but it *is* nice to see Nick (he's the youngest of the three, yeah?) doing a solo project. (Although, if I'm not mistaken, didn't he do one solo album when he was younger, too?) I've only seen one performance by him on a late-night show quite a ways back... not too bad, I'll admit. Not my taste in music, but a catchy song from what I remember, and the vocals were decent.

Review:
"Emilie Autumn’s music is refreshing to my ears when all I’ve had as of late is mainstream pop music blasted from radios and TVs. I can certainly understand why others will find her music disinteresting, but her theatrical style is livening in regards to my interests, thoughts, and it makes for a pleasant comparison with popular modern music in general. She’s not afraid to 'ugly-up' her vocals, which goes hand-in-hand with her satisfactory style, and while the lyrics can sometimes be mediocre, her overall content is appealing and entertaining on average."

^ That was something I had blogged over two months ago, and I find that I still agree with it. So far I have her Opheliac, Laced / Unlaced, and Enchant albums, and out of these thee I say Opheliac is the best; however, it's up to each individual's judgement and personal tastes.

In short, she's a creative artist I like to keep an eye on.

Artist: Franz Ferdinand

Review:
I was able to see FF perform live on the 7th in Seattle, and it's one of the better (and best ;P) acts I've seen. I am a little bumbed, though, since I was originally about ten feet away from the stage, but I had to drag a friend out of the crowd. It would have been amazing to see and hear them that close, but from afar it was still good. The vocals were great, and even better than performances I've watched on TV. They were followed up by Modest Mouse, who said FF made it a hard act to follow.

In any case, this is a great band to go see live!

I'll point out that regardless of whether or not anyone's family member has hit a girl does not change anything. It still does not make his actions right.

And it certainly doesn't make me like his music any more or less than I already do.

Artist: Silversun Pickups

ohmaigodsreally? I was profile surfing on another site one day and one of Silversun Pickups' song started playing. I thought it was okay--not bad, though, so I looked into the music and got two of their albums. The music fits in with my taste decently, but some of it sounds monotonous and the vocals can annoy me immensely at times. ...But I thought it was a girl singing this whole time! Dx

Review:
Akon, Akon, Akon. Where do I start? Obviously, I’ve already given my opinion about him and his music, but I happened to see him in a commercial last week, to which my mother said, “Well, don’t have one of his albums?!” in response to my, “How disgusting!” comment. His voice is just too atrocious for me to even consider his lyrics, and whenever I have taken the time to hear past his (what I consider) revolting voice, the lyrics are below average. I have only ever been able to listen to one—and only one—song of his all the way through. It is and always will be beyond me as to why anyone would listen to songs like the ones I have heard from him.

And for the record, my mom was mixing up Akon with my K-OS albums. K-OS FTW, but Akon is just insulting and the videos can be degrading.
