I Write Sins Not Tragedies lyrics

Oh, well imagine; as I'm pacing the pews in a church corridor,
and I can't help but to hear, no I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words.
"What a beautiful wedding!, What a beautiful wedding!" says a bridesmaid to a waiter.
"Oh yes, but what a shame, what a shame, the poor groom's bride is a whore."

I chime in with a "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.
I'd chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of.....

Oh, well in fact, well I'll look at it this way, I mean technically our marriage is saved
Well this calls for, a toast so, pour the champagne,
Oh! Well in fact, well I'll look at it this way,
I mean technically our marriage is saved
Well this calls for a toast, so pour the champagne, pour the champagne...

I chime in with a "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.
I'd chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality...

Again......

I chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!"
No.
It's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.
I'd chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.

Again......

i agree with everyone here saying you shouldnt be offended with what they say. Its just a song if you dont like it why complain. Just dont listen to it! Its as simple as that! Love this song by the way!

i agree w/ cobratom what does it matter to you if they say "god damn" if you got problems with it dont listen to the song but thats kinda stupid because most of there songs are worse than this. Whatev love the song and anyone who hates it might as well hate me!!

I agree with you. Though, this is just me, I say "God" all the time simply out of habit. Considering I'm not super religous, I'm not offended by it. In all honesty, I don't care whether people say it or not, and it mostly gets on my nerves and gets me wriled up if someone condemns me for saying it. However, I understand people don't like it... I just don't care. Sorry.
Again, I liked the song before it was played too much. ...I never thought about the whole "God" thing until now... But if you take a look at other lyrics for popular songs, they're horrible compred to this song. It may be only me when I say that talking about smacking a girl's ass is more offensive than saying "God" in a song. These are just my opinion- disagree or not.

Jenny Valentine

For the folks that have a problem with "god damn", it's a good thing it's not a sin for you to HEAR it, only to SAY it, right? So maybe now you can be self rightous elsewhere?
Shit, the name of the song begins "I write SINS"

LoOkatMEboY wrote on Dec 04, 2006 on 01:18

I curse a lot (as you can see from my reviews) but I never say the LORD's name in vain.

Sick!
