The Way I Am lyrics
If you were falling, then I would catch you.
You need a light, I'd find a match.
Cuz I love the way you say good morning.
And you take me the way I am.
If you are chilly, here take my sweater.
Your head is aching, I'll make it better.
Cuz I love the way you call me baby.
And you take me the way I am.
I'd buy you Rogaine when you start losing all your hair.
Sew on patches to all you tear.
Cuz I love you more than I could ever promise.
And you take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am. |

Unregistered user kiona6 wrote on Jan 21, 2010 on 22:44 | | I love this song. It's so simple and cute. I've had this and "you & I" stuck in my head for the last 3 days. My favorite part is when she talks about buying him rogaine. She always seems to incorporate humor into her songs. Absolutely marvelous. This song just reminds me of how simple and everlasting love is. I can't help but smile when I hear it.

Please write a review about the song, not about eachothers writing.
I have deleted all foul language.

Jenny Valentine wrote on Aug 10, 2009 on 07:57 | | I remember this song now! Back when it came out, though, I never listened the whole way through. I believe this song is decent, although the lyrics could certainly be better. The song itself is mediocre (especially in regards to the portrayed meaning), and while I don’t have a huge problem with the lyrics, I’m most certain she could have figured out something better to say than "I'd buy you Rogaine." It’s what kills the song for me, really. The rest, however, bore me. I would have liked to hear her sing more creative lyrics than carry out such a humdrum song like this. If she had at least done that, "The Way I Am" wouldn't feel so everyday-ish. The song itself just FEELS lackluster because it has no ‘oomph’ in my opinion.
buddytyree wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 22:56 | | That's all.
buddytyree wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 22:56 | | I just want a bit more imput, all you've done is give me hell Mr. Walker. You haven't even reviewed a goddam song. I looked at your profile.
Rj Walker wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 22:54 | I'm not even going to argue with someone so simple minded as you Mr. Hatfield.
Grow up, learn some English and then I'd be obliged to have a little debate with you.
Oh and the whole purpose of "reviewing" a songs lyrics is to review it, now unless you do so within the next short while, I do believe I could report you.
I'm just saying... | |
Rj Walker wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 22:52 | Torturing? Really?
I was just trying to say you shouldn't be so blunt about things. Don't come right out and say it sucks when you KNOW it doesn't.
No you may not like the music, but you can at least "critique" like a real musician would.
I wasn't upset until you told me to "fuck off" I believe it was?
Oh and I'm no child.
I've listened to and played more music than you have and/or ever will.
Sorry to come off as a prick I just think people like you need to realize music for what it is and not for the fame factor.

buddytyree wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 22:47 | | It's just between you now man. It's obvious that YOU'RE the kid in actuality. Go torture some other teenager who loves music more than anything.
Rj Walker wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 22:45 | Uh oh, "child" alert.
Dude, why did you even say anything, this was between me and Tyree, not you.
I bet your some immature kid who has no clue what your talking about.
Rj Walker wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 22:05 | And you had the nerve to call her singing mediocre.
You wished yours was even half way mediocre.
Rj Walker wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 22:04 | Wow you really are on the dense side, eh?
I wasn't making you out to be anything I just think you need some kind of vocalist because you're voice is horrid. The music is decent, but the voice; seriously why even try?
buddytyree wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 21:08 | What pedestal? That's what I'm wondering. Jesus Christ you've made me out to be some kid who acts like he's Jesus and I don't even say I'm GOOD anymore!
I smile at what you're making me out to be, Rj.
Rj Walker wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 20:34 | | You being the perfect example.
Rj Walker wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 20:34 | I do not have my music on the internet, I believe in doing the "Real" way without some stupid computer.
What haters?
You can't have haters unless you have fans, and as far as I can see; you have none, unless you want to count your closest friends and family, which no matter how bad, every musician has backing them.
I'm not a hater, I'm just someone who thinks 15 kids who play guitar need to make an adjustment to their attitudes and come down off their pedestal and realize they're not half as good as their family/friends say.

buddytyree wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 20:04 | | Thanks by the way, Rj. You've really given me a lesson in how to put up with the haters.
buddytyree wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 19:51 | | I still have yet to hear your music, Mr. Walker.
Rj Walker wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 18:58 | You didn't give an opinion, you just complained about how awful it was, and how you think you should have play time when you shouldn't because you suck.
Yeah it doesn't feel so good does it kid? Now do you think my opinion really sounded like one? No it just sounded like some bullshit anger, which is exactly like yours. YOU need to let it go and quit calling in to radio stations you're never going to get airtime, EVER, especially since you can't respect the work of other musicians. You're just some punk kid who thinks music is how you're going to make it, when it's not. Get a life, grow up and go to college. Musics a tough biz and let's face it; it's not for you.
buddytyree wrote on Aug 09, 2009 on 18:01 | | I fucking understand it now man. Back the fuck off, I was voicing my opinion as well. I don't feel that I'm more deserving anymore and I re-read the review and felt that he was insulting me. Okay? So back off, please. I hate arguing about music. Maybe she IS more deserving than me. We all feel that we are more deserving in our own eyes, okay? Don't act like you don't Will you just let all that I've said go? God, I'm sorry I'm fourteen. Sorry I don't think the song's that great. It's called an OPINION. You think it's good, I don't. Get over it. Let it go. I don't feel like talking about this bullshit anymore.
