 Biography - Akon | Akon, real name Aliaune Thiam, is this weeks Featured Artist. He is known for his smash hits like 'Smack That' and the slightly controversial 'I Wanna [Love] You'. As of today, Akon has released 3 albums, 'Trouble', 'Konvicted' and 'Freedom'.
Akon grew up as the son of famous jazz musician Mor Thiam. This inspiring environment helped him play many instruments and use various influences for his musical carreer. It is those skills that got him where he is now.
Like many other artists, Akon does not only make music. He has recently launched his clothing line 'Konvict Clothing', he has co-produced and co-written numerous hit singles and is rumoured to produce comeback songs for both Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. |
